The Point Of No Return

Re-Post from 1/22/09 Almost a year ago.

There will be a point of no return.

When 50% of the people become dependant on entitlements, a majority of the people will vote for the government run programs and the size of government will consume the free markets.

The democrat party uses my tax money to buy votes through making more and more people dependant on government. Once they control health care the middle class will be part of the welfare vote and the democrat party will have more and more power that will not be easily opposed. When Barrack Obama says it's going to get allot worse before it gets better, I agree.

I heard the president and others complaining today about how Merrill Lynch is spending the bail out money that was provided to them. The government will try to manage all the companies they give money to, this is why the bail outs need to STOP.

The constitution and our private property are already feeling the effects of big government. The government does have limited responsibilities as outlined in the constitution and they are limited for good reason. If you can't make the government smaller it should at the very least only grow at a slower pace than the free markets and if the economy slows government spending should not increase.

Hurry, Hurry, spend as much as you can as quick as you can to get out of debt!!

I've been reading some good books about U.S. history and the constitution and have come to realize that from the very beginning our constitution has been a fragile document that has been abused through the years up to present day and some how it is still worth fighting for. Let's HOPE that doesn't CHANGE.

The First Tea Party 236 Years Ago

The Boston Tea Party was a direct action by colonists in Boston, a town in the British colony of Massachusetts, against the British government. On December 16, 1773, after officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of taxed tea to Britain, a group of colonists boarded the ships and destroyed the tea by throwing it into Boston Harbor. The incident remains an iconic event of American history, and reference is often made to it in other political protests.

Tea Party Patriots of today have many concerns, but almost all of them agree that government is not the answer to all of our problems. Out of control government spending and assaults on Capitalism are destroying our country as we know it. Those who are ok with less Capitalism must be ok with whatever takes its place? Tea Party Patriots of today do not care what party or label you belong to, they want common sense, personal responsibility and accountability returned to the people who represent and work for us. A majority of us realize the label of a party is not working for us, because if it were the Tea Party movement would not exist.

No matter how much you protest, email, phone, visit and write them, only a few politicians will be impacted by we the people due to huge amounts of money in politics. The old saying "they are all crooks" is not just a saying it is true because we the people keep re-electing them. After 2010 there are going to be a few less crooks in the republican party as the moderate republicans are eliminated.("In politics the middle way is none at all." John Adams) Every spending bill that is signed into law passes by just a couple votes, loaded up with pork to take back to the "bring home the bacon citizens" that re-elected the crook politicians. The Tea Party Movement of 2009 may only impact a few politicians but could make all the difference in the world.

With out a leader, the impact of The New Tea Party Movement is having an effect and proves that We The People are the leaders and in 2010 we will not follow career politicians in any party, we will remove them.

My Letter to Congress 12/7/2009

We The People as a whole are responsible for the government we get and as individual citizens we are also responsible for holding our representatives accountable for the offices we trust them to regardless of party affiliation. When emails, phone calls, letters, laws and our constitution have little effect of limiting our government from infringing upon our freedoms, future generations will look back and understand that our leaders and uninformed citizens choosing dependency over the freedom to fail in the end failed us all. I would rather fail as a free man than to fail as a slave to the state.

Freedom can never be obsolete and the fight for freedom has no beginning or end.

The constitution was designed to limit government and protect our God given rights, not provide us with things. I am truly blessed to have been born free in a country where so many people before me and to this day have sacrificed so much to protect our way of life. Our way of life and our constitution are more important than any of the buildings and monuments in our nations capital. When our family, friends and neighbors serve our country, here, at home and around the world, they are not defending their government, they are defending our way of life, our liberty and our constitution. Our constitution that was established to limit government’s ability to infringe upon our God given life and liberty should be protected at all costs and not pushed to the side as if it were obsolete.

Just as past generations have defended this great country and our constitution, so must we for future generations.

Some day our Grandchildren may ask us what happened to our freedom, what did you do?

We love our country and only good can come from good people standing up to preserve it in the only way they know how.

Public Option "The Hammer"

We have just learned that Senate Democrats are in final preparations to unveil their healthcare "hammer" to get ObamaCare passed. The "hammer" is the new public option compromise being worked out -- again behind closed doors -- that puts the government-run public option plan under the direction of a"non-governmental board."As if we are to believe this is an improvement! The "hammer public option" would be imposed immediately in every state that does not meet the ObamaCare guidelines. In addition, Reid and the Democrats have gotten so desperate to pass ObamaCare prior to Christmas that we now have positive confirmation that the "nuclear option" is still a looming threat. (The "nuclear option" would only require 50 votes to pass ObamaCare instead of the 60 votes now needed to end debate on the Senate floor.)

Sen. Ben Nelson acknowledged that in an op-ed. He feared failure to cast a vote to proceed would move Reid to use the "budget reconciliation" nuclear option. With the "hammer" coming and the very real threat of the nuclear option on the table, we are almost guaranteed avote on ObamaCare in the Senate before Christmas. We expect the "hammer public option" to be revealed next week and we want to greet its arrival with 750,000 petitions hand-delivered to U.S. Senate offices. December 2, 1823 The Monroe Doctrine

www.americaslibrary.gov In October 1823, President Monroe was concerned about Spain reclaiming sovereignty in the Western Hemisphere. He asked former presidents Jefferson and Madison for advice. They told Monroe to join forces with Britain. However, Monroe's secretary of state, John Quincy Adams (who would later succeed Monroe as president), had another idea. Adams thought the United States should go it alone. Whose advice do you think Monroe followed?

Monroe followed Adams's advice and laid out an independent course for the United States, declaring four major points in his December 2, 1823, address to Congress. He made four basic statements:

1) The United States would not get involved in European affairs. 2) The United States would not interfere with existing European colonies in the Western Hemisphere. 3) No other nation could form a new colony in the Western Hemisphere. 4) If a European nation tried to control or interfere with a nation in the Western Hemisphere, the United States would view it as a hostile act against this nation. In his Monroe Doctrine, he said that the peoples of the West "are henceforth not to be considered as subjects for future colonization by any European powers." Do you think Monroe presented his foreign policy as the "Monroe Doctrine"?

Monroe's declaration of policy toward Europe did not become known as the Monroe Doctrine until about 30 years after it was proclaimed. In 1823, the U.S. was not powerful enough to enforce Monroe's proclamation. Outside the United States, the "doctrine" went mostly unnoticed.

In the early 1900s, the U.S. emerged as a world power and the Monroe Doctrine became the foundation of U.S. foreign policy. President Theodore Roosevelt added the "Roosevelt Corollary" to the Monroe Doctrine in 1904, which said the U.S. had the exclusive right to intervene in the affairs of Latin American countries that were actively involved in deliberate misconduct or that refused to pay their international debts.

Colonel Christopher Gadsden

The Gadsden Flag

Although Benjamin Franklin helped create the American rattlesnake symbol, his name isn't generally attached to the rattlesnake flag. The yellow "don't tread on me" standard is usually called a Gadsden flag, for Colonel Christopher Gadsden, or less commonly, a Hopkins flag, for Commodore Esek Hopkins.


These two individuals were mulling about Philadelphia at the same time, making important contributions to American history and the history of the rattlesnake flag.
Christopher Gadsden was an American patriot if ever there was one. He led Sons of Liberty in South Carolina starting in 1765, and was later made a colonel in the Continental Army. In 1775 he was in Philadelphia representing his home state in the Continental Congress. He was also one of three members of the Marine Committee who decided to outfit and man the Alfred and its sister ships.

By 1775, the snake symbol wasn't just being printed in newspapers. It was appearing all over the colonies: on uniform buttons, on paper money, and of course, on banners and flags.
The snake symbol morphed quite a bit during its rapid, widespread adoption. It wasn't cut up into pieces anymore. And it was usually shown as an American timber rattlesnake, not a generic serpent.


We don't know for certain where, when, or by whom the familiar coiled rattlesnake was first used with the warning "Don't Tread on Me."
We do know when it first entered the history books.
In the fall of 1775, the British were occupying Boston and the young Continental Army was holed up in Cambridge, woefully short on arms and ammunition. At the Battle of Bunker Hill, Washington's troops had been so low on gunpowder that they were ordered "not to fire until you see the whites of their eyes."

"In December 1775, "An American Guesser" anonymously wrote to the Pennsylvania Journal:

The rattlesnake also has sharp eyes, and "may therefore be esteemed an emblem of vigilance." Furthermore,
"She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage. ... she never wounds 'till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of treading on her."
Finally,
"I confess I was wholly at a loss what to make of the rattles, 'till I went back and counted them and found them just thirteen, exactly the number of the Colonies united in America; and I recollected too that this was the only part of the Snake which increased in numbers. ...
"'Tis curious and amazing to observe how distinct and independent of each other the rattles of this animal are, and yet how firmly they are united together, so as never to be separated but by breaking them to pieces. One of those rattles singly, is incapable of producing sound, but the ringing of thirteen together, is sufficient to alarm the boldest man living."

Many scholars now agree that this "American Guesser" was Benjamin Franklin.

Franklin is also known for opposing the use of an eagle — "a bird of bad moral character" — as a national symbol.

Sarah Palin

Part Two:

I remember hearing the rumors about Sarah Palin being the choice to be John McCain's running mate and with a quick Google search was able to see what she looked like. When I saw her picture for the first time I thought she looked weak and nerdy. After listening to her selection speech to run with John McCain and listening to some of the chatter about her personal life she reminded me of the great rock star Ted Nugent. It turned out that John McCain, the main stream press and the liberals could not handle this future star.

John McCain chose Sarah Palin to make up for his short comings as a conservative republican. For years John McCain disappointed the conservatives with his RINO ways (Republican In Name Only) working with the liberals on amnesty, campaign finance reform, and global warming issues just to mention a few. He assumed he might win if moderates voted for him and the conservatives came out for Sarah. In the end the conservatives came out for Sarah but not for John. The moderates and independents decided they were ready for Hope & Change and the conservatives came out knowing they had more to vote against than for.

The main stream media promoted Barack Obama, helped select John McCain (most like Bush) and then set out to destroy Sarah Palin when they realized how popular she might be.

So here it is almost 2010 and not much has changed, Sarah Palin is as popular as ever, the main stream press is still attacking her and anyone who supports her. The press that is trying to destroy her is actually making her even more popular and the backfire has begun. Some in the press are beginning to look foolish.

I never really set out to be involved in public affairs, much less to run for this office. My mom and dad both worked at the local elementary school. And my husband and I, we both grew up working with our hands. I was just your average hockey mom in Alaska, raising...

We're busy raising our kids. I was serving as the team mom and coaching some basketball on the side. I got involved in the PTA and then was elected to the city council, and then elected mayor of my hometown, where my agenda was to stop wasteful spending, and cut property taxes, and put the people first.

I was then appointed ethics commissioner and chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. And when I found corruption there, I fought it hard, and I held the offenders to account.

Does this sound like a politician that wants to transform our country or the world or a politician who just wants what is best for us and future generations?

Actions speak louder than words and Sarah Palin has proved this from the PTA to the Governorship of Alaska.

It is way too soon to answer the question - Would you vote for Sarah Palin in 2012? But it's not too soon to support her in what ever she decides to do. She is a good person who loves her country and we all can only benefit from her involvement.

I voted for her in 2008 and will cast my vote in 2012 for the candidate that will return our country to free enterprise principals, individual responsibility and liberty.

Sarah has earned the respect of Proud Americans across this country because of her actions not only her words. The tea party movement and Sarah have allot in common, they both want to clean up the republican party and return to common sense policies.

As posted in comments on Greta's article referencing the MOVEON ad about Sarah Palin.The last 45 of my 66 years I've spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska. I understand Alaska politics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here's the breaking point: Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it. It's not about persona, style, rhetoric, it's about doing things. Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I'm about to mention here.

No matter where you fall in the wide spectrum of thought Governor Sara Palin's ability as a person and as a person of integrity and what the record shows about her stewardship as Governor of Alaska says it and says it all........

It's about the things she did and how she went about doing them. It's about her integrity. Its about her love of America. It's about her love of Americans. Even Governor Palin's supporters never mention these attributes. Now, with your permission, I will do my level best to set the record straight about Governor Sara Palin

Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took over the Governor's office from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, She tore into the Republican's "Corrupt Bastards Club" (CBC) and courageously threw them out.....
And sent them packing. I say courageously because they were from the same Republican party she belonged to.

Many of them are now justifiably residing in State housing and wearing Orange jump suits.

Back then the Democrats reacted by skipping around the school yard, throwing confetti and singing "la la la la" (well, you know how they are).

Name another governor in this country that has ever done anything similar.

But while you're thinking, I'll continue.

Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies in Alaska.

So, she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called "ACES".
Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah stood her ground and told them "don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way out." of Alaska.

They stayed and coughed up their share as well, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy, to being filthy rich.

Of course, the other huge international oil companies meekly fell into line.

Again, I ask you, give me the name of any other governor in this country that has done anything similar.

The other thing she did - When she walked into the governor's office, she got out the list of State requests for federal funding for projects, known as "pork" or "EAR MARKS". Sara went through the list, took 85% of them and placed them in a "when-hell-freezes-over" stack. The "Bridge to Nowhere" went into this stack.

She let locals know that if we need something built, we'll pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor's luxury jet. She felt it was too extravagant for her.

Maybe she could use the money she saved by dismissing the governor"s cook (remarking that she could cook for her own family), And giving back the State vehicle issued to her, maintaining that she already had a car, and dismissing her State provided Security Force (never mentioning-
I imagine-that she's packing heat herself).

I'm still waiting to hear the names of those other governors.

Now, even with her much-ridiculed "gosh and golly" folksy mannerism, she also managed to put together a totally new approach to getting a natural gas pipeline built. This project will be the biggest private construction project in the history of North America.

No one else could do it although they tried. If that doesn't impress you, then you're trying too hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a batch of brownies with her other hand.

For 30 years, Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling at a place called Point Thompson.
They made excuses the entire time why they couldn't start drilling. In truth they were holding it like an investment waiting for the price of oil to move up and up before selling its oil.

For 30 years, no governor could make them get started. This past summer, she told them she was revoking their lease and kicking them out.

They protested and threatened court action. She shrugged and reminded them that she knew the way to the court house. Alaska won again.

The Fits Going To Hit The Shan



Obama is throwing the fit in the shan and thinks none of it will get on him.

I am starting to believe President Obama cares very little about re-election and his objective is to transform this country and the world as much as possible in his first four years as he has stated and then move on to the UN in 2012 rather than become a lame duck president. Once at the UN he will be able to negotiate with all the new friends he has made, dictators and tyrants. After all it is much easier negotiating with countries when they are not controlled by free people. His stand on Honduras and Iran are an indication of that. Do you remember this? Maybe not, the main stream media did not cover it too much.

Some unprecedented news today, folks. Never in the history of the United Nations has a U.S. President taken the chairmanship of the powerful UN Security Council. Perhaps it is because of what could arguably be a Constitutional prohibition against doing so.

To wit: Section 9 of the Constitution says:
No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.

The real goal of the Obama administration unfortunately is to provide more appeasement to our enemies and to eventually bring charges to those who served in the previous administration and weaken our country. Our country will end up being on trial instead of the terrorist. If this group of terorists get a trial in our civilian courts where will it end? Liberals do not like the US being a super power and if they have their way we will become weaker and the whole world will suffer.

I plan to write more about this later, for now please ignore what President Obama says but watch he does.

One Big Inner City

As the federal government centralizes more and more power and continues to manage more and more of our lives and provide solutions to all of our wants and needs, the states will become less relevant and the borders that separate the states will fade. The United States of America, these words have meaning, 50 individual states united, not forced to unite, rather wanting to unite, if they were forced to unite they would not be free. We The People need to make sure our country is strong and to do that the U.S. Constitution must not be ignored. If we are week when we are divided we need to address those things that divide us. If the issues that divide us are a result of the individual states loosing their sovereignty to a central government because our Constitution has been ignored, the solutions will eventually be out of our reach.

Just as it is difficult to put the Genie back in the bottle, it is also next to impossible to eliminate entitlement programs that are started with presumably good intentions. A safety net soon becomes a ball and chain and creates a permanent dependency for some. Is the safety net really designed to be temporary and if so where is the evidence. Rewarding poor behavior rather than good behavior has destroyed the family structure and faith in a higher power in most of our inner cities. Schools are failing because families are failing. The dependency created by welfare and rewarding single mothers with more welfare payments as they continue to have more and more children out of wedlock will create more votes for the liberals in all levels of government but only at the expense of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Compassion should be measured by how many people you can get off of welfare not on. Conservatives believe in giving people a hand up not a hand out. We all have heard the saying; Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime. All welfare programs should be designed to give people a hand up not a hand out, with rewards for good behavior not bad. Winning votes by keeping people in a state of dependency destroys the human spirit and also destroys the neighborhoods where it resides.

If we look at some of the solutions that have been provided for the inner cities we may be able to see what is in store for us on the national level. As the federal government gets more powerful by the day it will take over more and more responsibilities that were once handled by individuals, families, Churches, charities and local governments. Not only will the costs be higher, the solutions will be more complex and broad. What might be the right solution in one community might not work in another. The goal of solving all of our problems on a national level rather than the local level will just create more problems similar to those of the inner cities. Once again good intentions will need to be questioned. Could it be more about power and votes?

Just as the inner cities have become dependent on welfare programs so too will the nation as a whole if we continue down the road we are on. Government run health care will lay the ground work for this to play out. The sovereignty of the individual and the states will be sacrificed for NATIONAL health care. When the Obama administration, the liberal Democrats and maybe a couple of Republicans ignore other possible solutions that don't require the federal government but would rather leave it up to the people and the states, you have to wonder what their real intentions are. Do they really care that much about your health or is it really about the power and control that it brings to them?

If we ignore the U.S. Constitution and continue to create more and more entitlements on a national level, not only will we become one big state, we may become one big inner city and it won't be the Shining city on the hill that Ronald Reagan talked about.

Good people and wealth leave the cities that have been destroyed by liberal policies that reward poor behavior and penalize good behavior. Will good people and wealth leave our country like they did the inner cities? Are we willing to make the sacrifices necessary and return to our constitution to look for the answers or will the ball and chain of dependency hold a majority of us down?

Congress has raised the debt ceiling four times in the past two years and will probably have to do it again in the next month.

Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home. It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine..Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun. Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David 0Burien, was not so lucky. He died from multiple stab wounds to the chest. Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news........an 11 year old girl, properly trained, defended her home, and herself......against two murderous, illegal immigrants......and she wins,She is still alive.. Now that is Gun Control !

Who's Smarter?

Presidents will come and go, and hopefully BO will go in 2012. When some presidents go they take pieces of our constitution with them. Through out history there have been Presidents who thought they were smarter than our founding fathers and other Presidents who admired and had deep respect for them. The ones that thought they were smarter were and are very dangerous. It has been a slow steady drift away from the principals of our founding fathers , and now with the new radical and not so smart Democratic Party controlling congress and the white house, the remaking of our country is under way at a record pace.

Now back to those presidents who think they are smarter than our founding fathers.

Reform Not Transform

Solutions can begin with out a NATIONAL health care bill. We here alot about waste and fraud in Medicare and Medicaid, and the politicians tell us that is what will help pay for it, so why do we need a bill to address this problem, start eliminating fraud and waste today and prove it can be done.

Tort reform is a proven method that some states are using now to reduce costs and even stimulate their economies.

The Scars Of Slavery

The scars of slavery on our country and other freedom loving countries around the world will always be a part of our history we should not and can not forget. We should also try to realize that in the end it was freedom and liberty that allowed us to correct our mistakes and try to move forward. What would this country and the world be like today if good people wanting to do what is right did not have the freedom to prevail over evil?

Slavery still exists around the world to this day, mostly in countries run by dictators, where freedom and liberty do not exist. You can read Modern Day Slavery Around The World article and wonder why the U.N. and the world can't do more on this issue.

Mankind can never be perfect but his only chance of fighting evil is by being free.

Slavery and the Framing of the U.S. Constitution

The question of prohibiting the African slave-trade by a provision in the national Constitution caused much and warm debate in the convention that framed that instrument. A compromise was agreed to by the insertion of a clause (art. I., sec. 9, clause 1) in the Constitution, as follows: "The migration or importation of such persons as any of the States now existing shall think proper to admit shall not be prohibited by the Congress prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight; but a tax, or duty, may be imposed on such importation, not exceeding ten dollars for each person." The idea of prohibiting the African slave-trade, then warmly advocated, was not new. In 1774 the Continental Congress, while releasing the colonies from other provisions of the AMERICAN ASSOCIATION , had expressly resolved " that no slave be imported into any of the United States."

Why I Tea Party

My name is Hugh Reynolds Jr. and it feels great to be here among freedom loving, country loving, and God loving people. The constitution was designed to limit government and protect our God given rights, not provide us with things. I am truly blessed to have been born free in a country where so many people before me and to this day have sacrificed so much to protect our way of life. Our way of life and our constitution are more important than any of these buildings and monuments you see around you here today. When our family, friends and neighbors serve our country, here, at home and around the world, they are not defending their government, they are defending our way of life and our constitution. Our way of life is our constitution. When judges and politicians from the local level all the way up to the President that we the people elected start ignoring or remaking our constitution they are ignoring our way of life. Just as past generations have defended this great country and our constitution, so must we for future generations. It is our duty as United States citizens to voice our concerns to our representatives and our fellow citizens.

Like many of you, I have family and friends that ask, why are you going to a tea party or why are you going to protest at a town hall meeting? My first thought is, because I can, why aren’t you? You may have voted for Barack Obama but you didn’t vote for all the career politicians in congress, did you? My second thought is I don’t want my country REmade, I like it just the way our Founding Fathers intended it to be. Our Founding Fathers were some of the most intelligent people to ever walk on earth. If you remake our country, you are remaking our way of life and our constitution. So this 2008 sore looser does all he can, blog, tweet, listen to talk radio, write and read emails, call my congressman, vote, watch Glen Beck, watch fox news, start a tshirt business with quotes from our founding fathers on the backs, express my views in a positive way to others, and yes attend tea parties. And still we ask – what can I do? Some day our Grandchildren may ask us what happened to our freedom, what did you do?

A percentage of misguided citizens who are less informed and poor candidates to choose from will always be a threat to our representative republic, this will never change, but what does need to change is for good people to stand up when the politicians lay down. The time and effort of one informed citizens vote is cancelled out by a voter wanting the government to take care of them. That’s why I am going to a tea party; would you like to join me?

Like many of you my first protest was April 15, 2009. Mine was in the pouring rain with SOME of my family. I remember not knowing what to expect when I was about a block away from my first protest, would anybody be there or would they not show due to the rain? After seeing the turn out that day in the pouring rain I knew people had finally had enough. Not enough people had enough yet but it was a start. My town hall rally in Towson Md. was on one of the hottest days of this summer and one of my coworkers said, “There probably won’t be that many people there because of the heat” but I knew there would be, and there was, including some people that the President requested be there bought and paid for by the unions with their mass produced signs, that’s when I knew we were starting to make a difference. More and more people are starting to wake up and realize the country they love can not be taken for granted any longer.

We The People as a whole are responsible for the government we get and as individual citizens we are also responsible for holding our representatives accountable for the offices we trust them to regardless of party affiliation. When emails, phone calls, letters and laws have little effect, it is the people’s duty and responsibility to voice their opinions and concerns.

The antique press, the blame America first crowd and the people who fell for the hope and change bumper sticker pretend not to understand what tea parties are all about, but they do, and their insults and misrepresentation of us is proof that we are making a difference. The people you see here today are the same people you would see at a 4th of July parade or lining the streets of a funeral procession of one of our fallen heroes. We love our country and only good can come from good people standing up to preserve it in the only way they know how, regardless of others who think there is no threat to our way of life.

My Thoughts on How BO Became 44

1.He promised hope and change - Who could disagree with hope and you had to be well informed and read between the lines to understand the kind of change he was really talking about.

2.He ran as a moderate and at times talked like a conservative – His voting record in congress was one of the most liberal, his promises of tax cuts and mortgage payments sealed the deal for some.

3.I think it’s time for a black president – Is that statement racist? A black conservative would have been destroyed by the liberal press and the democratic party.

4.The antique press had thrills going up their legs (Chris Mathews) – To this day the antique press offers very little criticism of the man they helped elect.

5.John McCain – RINO republican in name only, started out the primary in last place and finished first? Basically a lack of leadership in the Republican Party. Conservatives held their nose while voting for John McCain. Some didn’t vote.

6.Young and good looking and never smokes in public – Image is a big part of being electable, old man vs. young active cool guy.

7.Money - Barack and his operators put on huge events that cost millions. The amount of money spent to elect Barack Obama broke all records.

8.Colin Powell – Put his support behind Barack, at the same time he insists the Republican Party needs to be more moderate like John McCain?

9.George Bush - “ I’ve abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market” George was not much help for the Republican nominee.

10.Barack Obama – One term? Can the President be as successful as the candidate? Only time will tell. Or will he be the best thing that ever happened to the Conservatives in 2010 & 2012?

United State of America

Yes, I know the “S” is missing from the title.

The Revolutionary war ended in 1783

On April 18, 1865, the Civil War ended with the surrender of the Confederate army. 617,000 Americans had died in the war, approximately the same number as in all of America's other wars combined.

Hawaii and Alaska became states in 1959, only 50 years ago.

The 10th Amendment is becoming more and more irrelevant as the federal government grows out of control.

The powers not delegated to The United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

The states and the people will become so dependent upon the federal government that the sovereignty of the individual states will become irrelevant. I feel the need to place a Thomas Jefferson quote here: “A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have”. (Actually I could put a dozen Thomas Jefferson quotes here.) Resolutions in 36 states are now being introduced or are already in place to push back against the governments over reaching and power. Does this sound familiar, revolutionary and civil war?

The founding fathers pledged their Lives, Fortunes and sacred Honor in The Declaration of Independence to lay the ground work for The Constitution Of The United States. Their intentions were to establish a guide for our future so that we the people could be free from over reaching governments forever.

As Benjamin Franklin is credited with saying, at the conclusion of the Constitutional Convention in 1787:

Q: “Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?”
A: “A Republic, if you can keep it.”

Benjamin Franklin seems to have known the dangers of the new system, dangers we seem to have forgotten. They had best be remembered, or we will lose that for which so many have paid so dearly.

If we keep ignoring our Constitution we will become The United State of America.

The more the federal government controls all areas of our lives and the more similar the states become to one another the more the individual states borders become blurred. Our slow departure away from the U.S. Constitution may have started the day after its signing. The struggle to maintain our Constitution has always been a challenge and always will be. Entitlements account for over 60 percent of our federal budget. All these entitlement programs are for our own good right? I’m not going to get into all the different programs and who started them, because every one of them was started by we the people with the most famous ones starting in the early 1900s. Health care is almost 20% of our economy. What better way could there be to gain complete control of the states and the citizens than through health care run by the federal government.

The civil war was not about slavery when it began, just as health care is not about your well being. It is about power. The power the federal government will have over the states and individuals if the healthcare industry is taken over will make us all slaves. It will also create more people dependent on the federal government and those people will vote for more and more entitlements provided by the liberals at all levels of government. How will you feel when 6 out of 10 dollars you earn goes towards paying for entitlements? Do you think this recent acceleration towards federal government taking over private industries will stop with the health care system? Who knows what’s next? My guess is what ever is left. Oil companies, insurance companies, natural resources, property rights, transportation, universities …

What will happen when some states welcome more and more entitlements from the federal government and fall in line and other states want to manage their own affairs as per the 10th Amendment? All these entitlements forced upon the states and the people weather it is welcomed or not will create divisions and competition between the states will be reduced.

The challenges we face need to be solved on the state and local level when and where ever possible. Competition between the states is good, just as competition between companies in the free market is good. The states that succeed should be emulated the ones that fail should learn from their mistakes and move forward. When one large central power is in control of all the states the right of the individual states to fail or succeed is lost.

People today have the freedom to move out of one state and into another state that is more to their liking. One day soon if we ignore our Founding Fathers, our Decleration of Independence and our U.S. Constitution we will all live in the same state, the state of dependence.

Everything in your life relates to energy and if the Senate and Obama pass cap&tax more freedom and liberty will be gone not to mention every thing you purchase will cost more and your energy bill will be cutting into your mortgage payment even more. Elections Have Consequences - Time To Vent

It has been over four months since the election of Barack Hussein Obama by We The People of the United States of America. Some people thought with his presence alone, in the White House, there lives would change for the better, some thought their lives would change for the worse. One thing is certain, change. Change is one promise that is easy to keep because it can't be stopped. Is it too soon to decide if the country is doing better or worse? With czars appointed to various positions reporting directly to the president and all of us owning stock in auto companies and banks that we did not ask for or agree to and will never see a dividend check from, we are starting to see more change than our Constitution can handle. The taking over of our health care system will surely establish us as a government first We The People second society. I think it is safe to say We The People are not running this country anymore no matter who you voted for. Transparency was one promise broken, (sorry I had to slip one in) today there are lawyers fighting for information under The Freedom of Information Act. Legislation passed by congress is not read by most of our representatives nor posted for the public to read for the minimum time promised during the election, before it is signed into law by President Obama. I could spend some time writing about the promises that have not been kept, but informed people are more concerned about the promises that he will keep. President Obama said in his inaugural speech we need to remake this country. He is. Allot of what is happening with private businesses being taken over by big government with noooooooooooo money(BTW that's how many zeros are in a trillion) is not even being discussed by congress. You remember congress, don't you? They are to represent the individual states of these United States of America.

I heard today that GM will be the largest company to ever file for bankruptcy. Now that it is run by We The People it can't run out of money, just like our federal government it can tax and spend with no limits. Why are there no limits to government spending and size? The U.S. Constitution Limits Government right?
How does a bankrupt government take over bankrupt companies?


58,000,000 (million) people that did not vote for Barack Obama are not sore losers, they understand that Elections Have Consequences and they also understand remaking our constitution will too. When you become the President of The United States it does not give you the right to remake this country or our constitution. 58 million people do not agree with this type of Change, and they will protest in a positive way again on Independence Day.


Ok, Now it's Time To Vent!

Freedom and liberty in our lives and economy, have allowed us to become the greatest country on Earth. The freedom to fail or succeed is critical for the future of our economy and our country.

When Government Expands Liberty Contracts

Well it has been about 2 months since my last post, no I have not given up on expressing my views. I am still well informed on what is going on and none of it surprises me. Actions speak louder than words so I have been concentrating on other projects and also taking time out for a tea party to protest big government and big government spending, it was a good time with family and friends. Do you know how much just one trillion is, one trillion seconds ago it was 30,000 B.C. western civilization did not exist and humans could not read or write.


You could read my last post and realize that not much has changed. It is unfortunate that at this time when we need a leader to rise above all the politics in Washington D.C. it is politics as usual. Politicians in congress are up to their same old behavior, some stand on their principles but most of them are controlled by the money trail and power. Some of them have been there for 30 years and more, not what the founding fathers expected from we the people. When this Country started, the elected offices of the US House of Representatives and the Senate were part time jobs not full time careers. I don't think Congress will ever enact term limits on them selves. We The People need to start placing just as much importance on the primary and off year presidential elections as we do the presidential election to remove allot of these politicians on the local and national level so real change can come. I wanted no bail outs from the start. If congress was not to blame for all this mess, there would be hearings and criminal trials and people in jail. The fact is congress is never held accountable and now they expect me to be concerned about the policies of private companies. The democratic congress will now point fingers at the companies they had to bail out due to their involvement and policies to begin with. I do not have the energy to listen to news or talk about CEOs getting paid too much or how they run their businesses, if they would have just failed to begin with, it would have been the end of the discussion. It is not a bail out, it is a take over. Just replace the word what ever it may be, rescue, bail out, with the words government take over and it all spells nationalism (to transfer a business, property, or industry from private to governmental control or ownership). Our federal government bankrupts everything they run, even the Capitol cafeteria. The reason our military is successful is due to the good honorable people who make it up, and it will be the first and possibly the only department to face cuts. The goal of this administration is not to improve the economy but to run it. Health care is 1/7 th of the economy. Nancy Pelosi (Dem. Congress House Leader), Harry Reid (Dem. Senate Majority Leader) and yes even Barack Obama are more concerned about the power it brings to the Democratic Party than your health. When capitalism is driven out of any industry quality will go down, wages will go down, the standard of living will go down and costs will go up. The oil industry could be next. Maybe the democrats won't let us drill, until they control it 100%. The first amendment (freedom of speech) is also under attack through the Fairness Doctrine (Controlling content on the public airwaves). The Census will now be overseen by the white house and not the Commerce Department. The Nationalization of housing and banking started with Freddie and Fanny, you know all about them don't ya. Those who believe in the Constitution and the Heritage of this country would like all people to live by The U.S. Constitution (The Rule Book), not a donkey or an elephant. HWR

I'm sure you already know this, but the evidence continues to mount that Government under President Obama continues to expand its role in taking care of all Americans. I love President Bush for his courage in fighting terrorism and keeping us safe, but every day I am more disappointed with his role in opening the door for this march to socialism.

I remembered hearing back in December that Fannie/Freddie would not move forward with any foreclosure/evictions because of the holidays. The extension to Jan 31 has now been extended to the end of February. Every month they avoid dealing with the foreclosure issue is another month for the amount of bad debt to grow larger and larger.

Perhaps they are seeking a way to never deal with the problem. More and more mortgages going unpaid and no evictions. Oh, I see -- we are providing free housing to those in need!!

Now that the Government has seized Fannie/Freddie (last year) there is no longer a responsibility for them to conduct business profitably. They are now a valuable tool for Mr. Geitner.

I have always been a very optimistic person, yet every day I feel like I run out of time for researching to try to be informed about the multitude of issues that cause me great concern. The thought "perfect storm" haunts me.

Save your money - don't spend on anything you don't have to. We are all in for a long hard road.

This Bill WILL effect all of us forever. The closer this Bill gets to Obama's desk the more my gut tells me we are headed for a cliff with the gas pedal to the floor.

I forgot, Obama won he can do whatever he wants.

I knew when Obama won the election government would become the solution to all of our problems, I just didn't think he would try to solve all our problems so quickly.

Our country is not suffering from too little government.

No matter what the president wants, it is We The People (Congress) that is responsible for spending and passing laws.

First U.S. President February 4, 1789

George Washington, the commander of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, is unanimously elected the first president of the United States by all 69 presidential electors who cast their votes. John Adams of Massachusetts, who received 34 votes, was elected vice president. The electors, who represented 10 of the 11 states that had ratified the U.S. Constitution, were chosen by popular vote, legislative appointment, or a combination of both four weeks before the election.

That the remaining 69 unanimously chose Washington to lead the new U.S. government was a surprise to no one. As commander-in-chief during the Revolutionary War, he had led his inexperienced and poorly equipped army of civilian soldiers to victory over one of the world's great powers. After the British surrender at Yorktown in 1781, Washington rejected with abhorrence a suggestion by one of his officers that he use his preeminence to assume a military dictatorship. He would not subvert the very principles for which so many Americans had fought and died, he replied, and soon after, he surrendered his military commission to the Continental Congress.

In 1797, he finally began his long-awaited retirement at Mount Vernon. He died on December 14, 1799. His friend Henry Lee provided a famous eulogy for the father of the United States: "First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen."

George Washington was a great man that became a good president. George Washington was a great leader because of his actions and not just his words.

Long Time Listener First Time Caller

I am a rookie blogger and have thought about changing the name of my blog to RookieWriter because that is what I am. I am a registered Republican because of Ronald Reagan and his optimistic outlook on life and his faith that good free men will always prevail. Peace through strength is hard to disagree with. In 1984 I was 20 years old and went with my family to vote for the first time at the elementary school I went to as a child. I remember the long line but at the time I didn't know if a line that long was normal. Well, I have not missed a presidential election since then and now I know that line was long. I also remember the years before Ronald Reagan when this country had some tough times but as a kid it didn't seem to effect me that much. I remember waiting in gas lines, depending on weather it was an even or odd day and what your license plate ended in. I remember mortgage interest rates of 18% and Americans held hostage in Iran and the news channels counting how many days and reminding us every day at the beginning of their broadcast. I also remember they were some of the best days ever, I guess being a kid and having no responsibilities make it possible to have fun even while waiting in line for gas. When I was five our family lived in a trailer park, but it was a nice trailer park, we had a huge orchard to play in, a big pond to fish in and ice skate on and allot of friends. We lived modestly but our parents managed to send the three of us to Catholic school, K thru 2nd grade for me. Even though it was only a couple of years it made a difference. No matter how tough things get, family, faith and friends are what really matter. Our country is going through some tough times again, I have even heard our president and others compare it to the great depression. I'm not sure what to compare it to, but I do know it can't be compared to the great depression yet and hopefully ever. How do I know this? At every restaurant in town Saturday night you had to wait to be seated.

It was 1992 when I really started taking more interest in politics. I took a leave of absence from my job in Maryland and headed to Florida to catch up with my high school sweetheart who I almost let get away. I found a job, not the job I really wanted but I knew it would be temporary. My company truck only had an A.M. radio with only a couple of channels and one of those channels carried Rush Limbaugh. I was hooked and I still listen to this day. Think what you want about Rush Limbaugh, he's the reason I have a Hot Springs portable spa on my patio and Allen Brother's steaks on my birthday. Today I listen to a variety of talk radio shows and have never called into one of them, but I do now know who my representatives in congress are and I called them for the first time this week. I called my Senator to thank him for a job well done and I sensed the person that answered the phone was waiting for me to rant and rave. I have a feeling they will be getting allot of calls for the next four years, I will try to make my calls in a positive manor with the hope of getting positive results.

Getting Aquainted

It looks like President Obama hasn't gotten acquainted to his White House surroundings. On the way back to the Oval Office Tuesday, the President approached a paned window, instead of the actual door -- located a few feet to his right.
