The US Capitol at Night, The Lords Prayer and God Bless America

After a long day of protesting ObamaCare and my video camera battery dead, I recorded this footage with my Blackberry. You may need to turn your volume up to hear better. Please excuse me when I start to sing God Bless America, I realize how bad I sound and stop so you can hear the Proud Americans sing. It was a nice ending to a long day of strong protesting. God Bless The USA

Force Care & The IRS

I guess this information proves the federal government really does care about our health. Full short article here.

Subcommittee on Oversight ranking member Charles Boustany (R-La.) said the IRS provision in the bill "dangerously expands, in an ominous way the tentacles of the IRS and it's reach into every American family," he said today during a press conference.
"This is a vast expanse of power," he said.
Boustany said the bill would allow the IRS to confiscate refunds if there are penalties for not buying health care.

Assuming it becomes law, the Congressional Budget Office expects the IRS will need roughly $10 billion over the next 10 years and nearly 17,000 new employees to meet its new responsibilities under health reform.

The States of The United States

continue to push back the central power in DC

5th state exempts guns. Is Washington noticing?

"As the federal government has radically overstepped is constitutional limitations in the past year or so, an explosion of states have begun re-asserting their rights not only with regard to firearms, but also in shielding themselves against government health care, cap and trade global warming taxes, and more," the report said. What is this Russia?

"No owner or operator of a restaurant in this state shall use salt in any form in the preparation of any food for consumption by customers of such restaurant, including food prepared to be consumed on the premises of such restaurant or off of such premises," the bill, A. 10129 , states in part.

The legislation, which Assemblyman Felix Ortiz , D-Brooklyn, introduced on March 5, would fine restaurants $1,000 for each violation.

More here.

My Take
This is only the beginning of what will happen as our free market systems are taken over by unlimited government.
As our health care systems are taken over by the federal government, salt bans will only be the tip of the ice berg.

Let me understand this; new york will buy needles for heroin addicts and then propose a new law banning salt? New police forces will be needed to enforce the Salt Law (The Food Police) and another police force will be needed to enforce mandatory health care coverage, do you see where this is going? Well maybe you will when you get fined $1,000.00 for putting salt on your Board Walk Fries.

What will be next? hamburgers, hot dogs, sugar, funnel cake (yum), Five Guys will be put out of business :(

I keep hearing they are going to cut fraud and waste in the current Medicare and Medicaid programs in the new HCbill, if so why can't they do that yesterday? Nothing about tort reform which has been proven to cut premiums in states like Texas and Mississippi are in the bill, because some of the biggest donors to the democrat party are lawyers.

Barack Obama indicated health care is a complicated issue; it's only complicated when you try to take it completely over.
If you think the government knows best politicians are not taking it over you could be right, because even they admit this bill is only the foundation.

Government run health care is the biggest can of worms this country has ever opened, everything in our lives can be related to our health.
Let the government repair social security, medicare, medicaid, postal service, trillion dollar debts, immigration, Fanny Mae, Freddie Mac, .... and then they can ask if we need their help with our health care, 1/6 th of our economy.

If and when the health care bill passes the states and the people will push back through the court systems. Forcing citizens to buy health care coverage from their federal government can not be constitutional, but then again it has not stopped them in the past.

I pray our representative republic survives.

"Pay Go"

Jim Bunning (U.S. Senator, Kentucky)
‘If the Senate cannot find $10 billion to pay for a measure we all support, we will never pay for anything.’

America is under a mountain of debt. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said in a hearing last month that the United States' debt is unsustainable. We are on the verge of a tipping point where America's debt will bring down our economy, and more people will join the unemployment lines. That is why I used my right as a United States Senator and objected.
Complete Op Ed by Jim Bunning here. A must read.

My take - The National Debt is the only real crisis. The White House and The Congress will take advantage of it too when the time comes. Higher taxes and a lower standard of living for years to come. Those who can move their wealth out of the country will do so, what's left will be spread around through higher taxes, inflation, more people relying on existing entitlement programs and new entitlement programs like forced health care that if passed will end the representative republic our Founding Fathers gave us. At a time in our history (2009) when we needed a Calvin Coolidge we got a FDR.

As bad as the numbers look above, I'm sure they are much worse.

This From The Heritage Foundation
President Obama is responsible for raising the debt to unprecedented levels. Capretta explains, “From 1789 through 2008, the U.S. government borrowed a total of $5.8 trillion. In 2009, the federal budget deficit exceeded $1.4 trillion. The administration now expects the 2010 deficit to break that record, topping $1.6 trillion. And in 2011, it would only fall to about $1.3 trillion. Thus, in just three years, the debt will have jumped an astonishing $4.2 trillion.”

This From
The political genius of President Coolidge, Walter Lippmann pointed out in 1926, was his talent for effectively doing nothing: "This active inactivity suits the mood and certain of the needs of the country admirably. It suits all the business interests which want to be let alone.... And it suits all those who have become convinced that government in this country has become dangerously complicated and top-heavy...."

Articles of Confederation

The Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, customarily referred to as the Articles of Confederation, was the first constitution of the United States of America and legally established the union of the states. The Second Continental Congress appointed a committee to draft the Articles in June 1776 and sent the draft to the states for ratification in November 1777. The ratification process was completed in March 1781, legally federating the sovereign and independent states, already cooperating through the Continental Congress, into a new federation styled the "United States of America". Under the Articles the states retained sovereignty over all governmental functions not specifically relinquished to the central government.
Maryland was the last holdout; it refused to go along until Virginia and New York agreed to cede their claims in the Ohio River Valley. A little over three years passed before Maryland's ratification on March 1, 1781.
